8th Annual Music Festival
16th March 2018
Our eighth annual Music Festival in our eightieth year meant that something special was required to make this a truly exceptional event. Accordingly we invited inspirational British composer Bob Chilcott to the Festival to conduct his iconic piece ‘Can You Hear Me? This extraordinary piece featuring sign language has been a firm Festival favourite for the last 8 years. Bob worked with a choir of over 200 children who came together for the first time on the day. We were absolutely delighted with the results and all 8 schools who participated were awestruck with the conducting skills by this legendary figure. Our special guest the Mayor Councillor Liz Frost commented upon the quality of the song choices and the enthusiasm and skill of all the children attending. At the end of the concert all our guests and 220 children came back for a delicious lunch followed by a happy play together where new friendships were formed during some well-deserved play in the beautiful school grounds.
