Adventures with Pirate Ron

As an exciting end to our Pirates topic we invited Pirate Ron (www.workshops-for-schools.co.uk) to talk to the children about pirates. We began the day by coming into school dressed as pirates ready to meet Pirate Ron. He gave the children a very informative talk which was fun and engaging, whilst showing the children a range of pirate artefacts. Pirate Ron was very impressed with the clever questions our Reception children asked him, such as ‘How did pirates make their flags?’ and ‘ Why did pirates walk the plank?’. After a short playtime we returned to the hall to be entertained by a Pirate Puppet Show, which had our children mesmerised with plenty of laughter! Finally we ended the day after lunch by making some incredible pirate themed puppets and were very thankful to the mums who came in to help with this amazing and creative but busy activity!
