Painted Ladies

Year 2 have finally released their Painted Lady butterflies. In a loving journey that began with the naming of an individual caterpillar, each child studied the lifecycle of a butterfly with great care and understanding. Whether it was ‘Trudy’ or ‘Fred’ or other equally entertaining names, the very hungry caterpillars ate and ate before climbing to the top of their pot and spinning themselves to form a chrysalis. The children were absorbed by this process and equally focussed when waiting for their butterflies to emerge.
