Supporting Guide Dogs

Today we met a real superhero who had a golden coat and large chocolate brown eyes. It was Guide Dog Zia who had saved her owner, Glenn’s life on several occasions by refusing to cross a road even though the green man beeping sound signalled clear, because she correctly sensed that a car was coming. Visitors Barry and Glenn from the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, brought along beautiful Zia and told us about the wonderful work that Guide Dogs do. Our own Mrs Ventris who, upon her retirement, purchased 2 years training for little Hope a young Labrador hoping to be a Guide Dog also joined us. We all enjoyed watching video footage of Hope in training.
