Investigating Italy

When you are lucky enough to be studying Italy as a topic it is essential to research the traditional food that Italians love. Accordingly Year 2 headed off to Dorking to see and experience how pizzas are made and then to visit a vineyard to see how wine is made. They had a wonderful day. Each child made a pizza and marvelled at the dough base and choice of toppings.

At Denbies Vineyard the children watched the grapes being harvested before enjoying a tractor ride around the beautiful estate. They then saw the bottling and labelling process and admired the beautiful carved oak barrels made from the storm in 1987. Finally the raised a glass of….apple juice to celebrate a magnificent day.
