Hats and Fashion at Chertsey Museum

As an exciting start to our topic ‘Where Did You Get That Hat?’ Year One Visited Chertsey Museum for an interactive workshop on clothing through time. The children tried on child sized clothes from the Stone age through to The Victorian era which were then arranged into a time line. There were costumes for every child to try on and we had great fun showing them off on a catwalk! We also did a trail set up especially for St Christopher’s called ‘I Spy Hat Trail’ where the children had to find various hats hidden around the museum some in pictures and some in real life. They had to answer questions about the hats, including what they were made of, features of the hats, their uses and the different types of hat. A very informative and fun day was had by all.
