We welcomed a record 237 children from 9 schools to our 9th annual Music Festival this year. The performances just keep getting better every year and we were indebted to Caterham Year 8 Scholars for getting the Festival off to the best start with an impressive selection of musical pieces and to City of London Freemen’s School for their Piano Trio performance in the middle. The Year 2 children shone brightly with their individual pieces and then blew us all away with the two ensemble pieces; A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman and Bob Chilcott’s masterpiece ‘Can you hear me?’ brilliantly conducted by Mr Adam Assen. Special congratulations to our own wonderful Year 2s who impressed a distinguished audience including the Mayor with the lively performance of ‘Consider Yourself’ followed by the sublime ‘The Prayer’ part sung in faultless Italian.
