Spectacular Space House Day

Traditionally House Days at St Christopher’s mean fun. Today was no exception. Science Dan led the day with an excellent Assembly all about the solar system. He then worked with each class introducing some amazing experiments that our young scientists were delighted to perform. Amongst the favourites was the Year 1  challenge to make a spaceship to safely carry a real egg. The children’s designs included packing using Rice Krispies, marshmallows, cotton wool and card which were successfully tested from a step ladder. Cooking rock cakes was another favourite activity.

In the afternoon all Houses enjoyed competitive sport activities including Rocket and Planet throwing, First Man on the Moon, Find a Star and Musical Asteroids. The day ended with a magnificent and colourful House Relay cheered on by all. What a fabulous day!
