An Elephant Never Forgets

As part of our Personal, Social, Health and Emotional studies, we once again supported the magnificent work of the charity Child Bereavement UK, using their suggestion of an Elephant’s Tea Party as the perfect vehicle to discuss loss and how to deal with it.

We talked about the importance of memories and the feeling of love as our overriding feeling for family members who are no longer with us. The children then took their paper hearts, with photos of their family member and carefully hung them on our apple tree. It is incredibly moving to see the children return numerous times during the day to look at the photos.
