Wellbeing at St Christopher’s
At St Christopher’s, your child’s happiness and wellbeing come first. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, valued and confident, and our nurturing environment ensures every child is truly known and supported.
Strong relationships sit at the heart of our school. Staff work closely with families, creating a genuine partnership that helps children feel secure both at home and in school. No child is ever overlooked – every success is celebrated and every concern is listened to with care.
Our wellbeing curriculum helps children understand their emotions, build resilience and develop confidence from an early age. Through assemblies, PSHE lessons and daily support in the classroom, children learn how to manage feelings, show empathy and grow in self-belief.
Mighty Minds - Supporting Mental and Emotional Health
Our bespoke Mighty Minds programme gives children practical tools to understand their emotions and look after their mental wellbeing. Through carefully planned assemblies and classroom activities — supported by high-quality picture books — children learn that all emotions are valid and serve an important purpose.
Children build their own “wellbeing toolbox”, exploring topics such as emotional resilience, including Zones of Regulation, dealing with worries, navigating change, self-acceptance, confidence and happiness. They also develop a simple understanding of how the brain works and how different parts support emotions, learning and behaviour.
At St Christopher’s, we celebrate the fact that every brain is unique. Children are encouraged to recognise their own strengths, appreciate differences in others and develop a positive mindset that supports lifelong wellbeing.
