St Christopher’s Earns Glowing Muddy Stilettos Review
29th September 2025
We were delighted to welcome Amber from Muddy Stilettos to St Christopher’s School & Nursery earlier this term.
The award-winning lifestyle site, loved by parents across Surrey and beyond, came to see what makes our school so special – and we couldn’t be happier with the glowing review she wrote.
Amber summed us up perfectly as:
A small, nurturing pre-prep that’s big on creativity, fostering independence and developing a love of learning at a young age.
She praised our “charming co-ed pre-prep and nursery” and the warmth of our community, commenting that “if you like a school with a feeling of informality and intimacy, you’re in the right place.”
Amber was especially impressed by our Nursery and Pre-Reception provision, describing the seven activity stations as including “a purpose-built kitchen, art and craft room and role play areas.” She noted how “learning is mostly through play in a free-flow way, with staff encouraging children to explore each station.”
As an “all-weather school,” she highlighted the strong emphasis on outdoor play and Forest School, alongside the breadth of specialist teaching in “French, PE, art, Forest School and music.” Amber also praised the care and attention given to every child, pointing out that “every child in Nursery and Pre-Reception is assigned a key worker (one for every 10 pupils) who will monitor each child, log progress and communicate with parents.”
Creativity across the school was another theme that stood out:
The arts take centre stage at St Christopher’s and there’s a bulging trophy cabinet to show for it.
Academics were equally praised:
Children at St Christopher’s do very well academically thanks to a well-thought-out programme that focuses on developing skills, independence and creativity.
Amber noted how pupils are prepared for the next stage of their learning, culminating in Year 2 where “every child is given a special role and responsibility – from Head Boy and Girl to House Captains, Music Captains and Eco Captains.”
The review also highlighted our strong pastoral care, noting how parents describe St Christopher’s as “a magical environment full of warmth, laughter and educational fun,” where “pastoral care is top notch – the staff really know each child.”
The final verdict was a wonderful endorsement of our ethos:
St Christopher’s is a wholesomely down-to-earth school with an emphasis on creativity over cookie-cutter learning, and skills over scores.
We’re so proud of this recognition, which reflects the dedication, creativity, and joy at the heart of our school community.
