VE Day Celebrations – A Day to Remember

On Thursday, our school marked VE Day with a truly memorable celebration. The entire school community came together in a spirit of remembrance and gratitude, with pupils and staff proudly dressed in red, white, and blue.

Each child crafted a unique clay poppy, inspired by the Tower of London’s iconic installation, to honour those who served and sacrificed. A special assembly offered a moment of reflection, featuring a moving rendition of I Vow to Thee, My Country.

The celebrations continued with a traditional fish and chip lunch, accompanied by lively 1940s music that added to the atmosphere. In PE, children enjoyed classic street party-style games, filling the playground with joy and laughter.

It was a day filled with learning, remembrance, and a strong sense of community – a truly fitting tribute to a pivotal moment in our history.
