Year 1 Discover Storytelling and Nature at Gatton Park

Year 1 had a wonderful time on their trip to Gatton Park in Reigate last week, where curiosity and creativity were at the heart of the day.

The visit began with a story hunt, as the children explored the beautiful grounds collecting natural objects to spark their imaginations. Each item became the starting point for exciting new tales, inspiring the children to think creatively about the world around them.

Later, they set off on a sensory walk, where they used all their senses to experience the environment in new ways. Highlights included creating ‘smelly cocktails’ from fragrant plants and herbs, and designing artist palettes filled with a rainbow of colours found in nature.

The children threw themselves into each activity with wonderful curiosity and enthusiasm, showing great focus and beautiful behaviour throughout the day. It was a memorable trip that blended exploration, creativity and joy spent outdoors in nature.
