After School Club Assistant - Term time
After School Club Assistant
Position Start Date: May 2025
Working Hours: 3:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday (15hrs per week)
Term Time Only
Salary: £13.24 per hour
About Us:
St Christopher’s School is seeking an enthusiastic and creative After School Club Assistant to join our friendly Owls team, term time only. At St Christopher’s, we strive to balance nurture with independence, fostering an environment that equips our children to succeed academically. Our After School Club, Owls, provides a supportive and engaging space for our youngest children aged 3-7 years, combining outdoor activities, arts and crafts, educational play, and snack time.
Responsibilities:
As an After School Club Assistant, your role will be varied and enjoyable, contributing to the overall success of Owls. The role is 5 days a week from 3pm to 6pm term time only. Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging in outdoor activities with children.
- Facilitating arts and crafts sessions.
- Overseeing educational play sessions.
- Assisting with snack time activities.
- Collaborating with the After School Manager and team members to ensure the smooth running of the club.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Minimum of a full and relevant Level 2 Early Years Childcare qualification or above.
- Flexibility to work with children aged 3-7 from both our Nursery and School.
- Effective communication skills with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Desirable: Qualifications in first aid (training may be available).

Job Description After School Care Assistant
Playground Lunchtime Supervisor - Term time
Playground Lunchtime Supervisor
Position Start Date: May 2025
Working Hours: 12:10pm to 1:40pm, Monday to Friday (7.5 hrs per week)
Term Time Only: Plus 12 additional days
Salary: from £3,205
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic playground supervisor to assist in promoting a safe and happy play environment for all children.
The ideal candidate must be able to make lunchtime a positive and enjoyable experience by supporting the children with playground games and social activity.
Main responsibilities:
- To encourage children in purposeful play and social skills activities.
- General supervision of children during the lunch period, in the playground (and classrooms, in poor weather).
- To ensure appropriate standards of behaviour, dealing with lapses in behaviour or breaches of school rules, in line with the School’s Behaviour Policy.
You will need:
- To have the ability to relate well to children.
- The ability to organise and supervise simple games for groups of children and a willingness to contribute ideas to further develop the play opportunities for them during the lunchtime break.
- The ability to be patient and remain calm in any situation.
- The ability to communicate effectively with children and with other school staff members.
A first aid qualification would be desirable, although training may be available.
