After School Club Assistant - Term time

After School Club Assistant  

Position Start Date: November 2025

Working Hours: 3:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday (15hrs per week)

Term Time Only

Salary: £13.76 per hour

About Us:

St Christopher’s School is seeking an enthusiastic and creative After School Club Assistant to join our friendly Owls team, term time only. At St Christopher’s, we strive to balance nurture with independence, fostering an environment that equips our children to succeed academically. Our After School Club, Owls, provides a supportive and engaging space for our youngest children aged 3-7 years, combining outdoor activities, arts and crafts, educational play, and snack time.

Responsibilities:

As an After School Club Assistant, your role will be varied and enjoyable, contributing to the overall success of Owls. The role is 5 days a week from 3pm to 6pm term time only. Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in outdoor activities with children.
  • Facilitating arts and crafts sessions.
  • Overseeing educational play sessions.
  • Assisting with snack time activities.
  • Collaborating with the After School Manager and team members to ensure the smooth running of the club.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Minimum of a full and relevant Level 2 Early Years Childcare qualification or above.
  • Flexibility to work with children aged 3-7 from both our Nursery and School.
  • Effective communication skills with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Desirable: Qualifications in first aid (training may be available).

This role will involve contact with children. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
