Finding the right next school for your child
At St Christopher’s, we understand how important the next step in your child’s education is. That’s why we offer two thoughtfully designed pathways, with expert guidance and support at every stage.
From initial conversations to final choices, we work closely with families to ensure parents can make the best decision for their child. Our aim is to prepare every pupil to thrive at the school that best reflects their talents, interests, and ambitions – making the transition to Year 3 a smooth, positive, and rewarding experience for both children and parents.
The Chinthurst Early Offer Pathway
As a member of the Reigate Grammar School family, we are proud to offer a direct route to our sister school, Chinthurst School, at Year 3. Through the Early Offer Process, pupils receive a confirmed place by the end of Year 1 – without the need of a formal entrance assessment. This gives families peace of mind and allows children to enjoy a fulfilling Year 2, while also benefiting from a thoughtfully designed transition programme to Chinthurst.
The 7+ Pathway
For families considering a range of other leading schools in the area, we provide a robust and supportive 7+ programme. Pupils following the 7+ pathway benefit from tailored preparation for entrance assessments, helping them to secure a place at the school best suited to their individual strengths and aspirations.
Junior School Destinations
St Christopher’s is ideally located in a part of Surrey that offers a wide choice of excellent junior schools across both the independent and maintained sectors. Our pupils regularly move on to independent schools such as Chinthurst School, City of London Freemen’s, Downsend and Wallace Fields Juniors, St Martin’s and St Joseph’s in the maintained sector.
Some families choose to look a little further afield. Over the past five years, St Christopher’s children have gone on to 20 different independent and maintained schools, including Danes Hill (Oxshott), Guildford High School, King’s College Wimbledon, St Paul’s, St Teresa’s (Effingham), Surbiton High School for Boys and Sutton High School for Girls.
