St Christopher’s Celebrates ISI Inspection Success

All required Standards met, with inspectors recognising a Significant Strength in the school’s nurturing culture and development of children’s self-confidence.

We are delighted to share the findings of our latest Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspection. Following the inspection in June 2026, St Christopher’s met all the required Standards, the highest possible outcome under the current ISI framework.

Inspectors also identified a Significant Strength, a recognition awarded only in a small minority of inspections where an aspect of a school’s provision has an exceptional and meaningful impact on pupils.

At the heart of this recognition was the nurturing culture of St Christopher’s and our shared commitment to building children’s confidence and belief in themselves:

“A significant strength of the school is the highly intentional and deeply embedded way in which leaders and staff develop pupils’ self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence.”

Inspectors described the development of “merited self-confidence” as “a defining feature of its culture and a particular strength of pupils’ personal development.”

Strong foundations from the very start

Our Early Years provides children from the age of two with a warm, nurturing start to their education. Inspectors recognised the strong foundations being established:

“Children are confident learners who participate actively, develop secure early skills and make good progress across the areas of learning.”

This strong start continues throughout St Christopher’s, with inspectors finding that:

“Teaching is successful at enabling pupils to make good progress.”

The breadth of the curriculum was also highlighted, including the importance placed on core skills alongside the opportunities offered through specialist teaching:

“Suitable emphasis is given to the development of pupils’ oracy, literacy and numeracy skills. Pupils also benefit from specialist teaching in subjects such as French, art, music, physical education (PE) and outdoor learning.”

Together, the findings capture the heart of a St Christopher’s education: strong foundations, inspiring learning and confident, curious children.
