Year 1 Enjoy Multi-Sports Afternoon at Chinthurst

Before half term, Year 1 enjoyed a wonderful visit to our sister school, Chinthurst School in Tadworth, for an exciting afternoon of sport, friendship and fun.

Travelling by minibus, the children arrived to discover a sporting extravaganza waiting for them on the field. They began the afternoon by introducing themselves to a new friend before being shown around the activities by the Chinthurst children.

There was plenty to keep everyone busy, with sprint races, javelin throwing and an obstacle course that included high jump and throwing challenges. The children embraced every activity with enthusiasm, encouraging one another and trying their very best throughout the afternoon.

A particular highlight was the relay race between the two schools. In a thrilling finish, St Christopher’s just managed to pip Chinthurst to the line, much to the excitement of the team!

To celebrate a fantastic afternoon, the children enjoyed a delicious chocolate cookie and drinks in the dining hall, where they were presented with medals featuring the colours of both schools.

The children represented St Christopher’s beautifully throughout the visit, showing kindness, confidence and excellent sportsmanship. It was a wonderful afternoon of fun, friendship and sporting challenge, and a lovely opportunity to spend time with children from our sister school.
