A Taste of Italy

Year 2 are studying Italy this term and so, for a little taste of Italy, they headed off to Dorking for their first trip of the year. Their first job was learning how to make pizza, a staple part of the Italian diet. Understanding how yeast works proved to be very interesting and the children devised their own toppings for a delicious pizza that was boxed up to take home.

Next the children journeyed to Denbies Vineyard to learn about the all important art of growing grapes to turn into another Italian favourite, red wine. They enjoyed their tour in the sunshine in addition to a fascinating demonstration of the art of wine making.
