Helping to Plant Centenary Wood

On Tuesday in the glorious autumn sunshine we took the saplings that we had grown from seed and nurtured here at St Christopher’s, up to Centenary Wood to plant helped by the wonderful volunteers at The Woodland Trust. The whole  of Year 2 worked tirelessly to dig and plant our young trees in the special area reserved for St Christopher’s School. Across Great Britain 4 new woods have been created and the fact that the wood in England is just up the road means that we can take an active interest. The woods have been created to mark the 100 year anniversary of the end of the First World War so we sang our special song ‘In Flanders Field’ to the delight of the gathered volunteers and parents.  Well done Year 2.
